Step 01

Send the resume

Email quinn@varcoe.aiwith a resume attached, the practice area you fit, and your engagement preference (W-2 / C2C / 1099). One paragraph on the most production-grade thing you’ve shipped beats a five-page CV.

Step 02

First call with Quinn

30 minutes. The first conversation is with the founder, not a recruiter. We talk through scope, rate, engagement type, and whether the bench fits both ways. If yes, we move to a working session.

Step 03

Working session

Paid working session on a real engagement artifact — an IR tabletop, an ISO 42001 gap analysis, an MDR detection package. We don’t do whiteboard hazing. We hire on demonstrated work.

Step 04

Offer or referral

Offer in days, not weeks. If the fit isn’t right, we’ll often refer to a peer firm where it is — the practitioner community is small and we’d rather make a good intro than ghost.

The honest version

What you should know, before you send anything.

What gets you a call back

Real production scars on the resume — incident response in anger, FedRAMP or ISO 42001 attestations you actually drove, an LLM product that shipped to paying users. Specific war stories beat generic certifications.

What we don't do

Tier-1 helpdesk, offshore phone queues, junior account management, or 'we'll throw you on a SOC' staffing. The practice is senior-only by design and we won't compromise the bench to fill a seat.

Pay band

Senior rates, published bands at offer time. W-2 base + bonus, C2C all-in hourly, or 1099 day rate — whichever fits how you work. Equity available for the right founding-bench hires.

Geography

Remote-first across the U.S. Naples, FL HQ for anyone who wants to drop in. Cleared work (DoD, DIB, federal civilian) requires U.S. citizen + active or recent clearance.
